Upcoming Health Rehabilitation Clinics has recently made an exciting announcement regarding the availability of life-saving equipment for student-athletes in County. Taylor Rohleder, the center's athletic trainer, has added a new automated external defibrillator (AED) to her athletic training bag. This equipment will be accessible at all athletic practices and events Rohleder covers for Neodesha USD 461 and Fredonia USD 484.
According to the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), having an AED should be a crucial part of an athletic trainer’s emergency action plan. In fact, NATA strongly encourages athletic trainers to include an AED as part of their standard emergency equipment.
AEDs not only provide early defibrillation but also enhance the survival rates for athletes and other individuals present at athletic events who may suffer from sudden cardiac arrest. This new equipment will undoubtedly be a valuable asset for ensuring the safety and well-being of student-athletes in County.
