Lose A Lot Of Weight In 2 Weeks With The Zero Belly Diet

By Holly / November 22, 2017

The Zero Belly Diet has attracted a lot of followers because of its promise of helping you lose fat in your body in a matter of weeks especially in your abdominal area.  Created by David Zinczenko, this diet plan is featured in his book the Zero Belly Diet.   He is best known for his other books such as Eat This, Not That.

According to the author, he has researched and extensively studied the causes and triggers of belly fat, its health risks and most importantly, how it’s linked to weight loss.  He outlines to readers how we can control our fat genes so that we can lose a significant amount of weight in two weeks.

The Zero Belly Diet Review

In this diet, you are allowed three meals and only one snack daily.  In addition to that is the Zero Belly drink.  This drink is actually a smoothie with fruit, non dairy milk, and protein powder.  The book which is the guide for this diet provides meal plans and the recipes you will be using.  One “cheat meal” is permitted per week and you can eat anything you want for that single meal.

The diet begins with a cleansing regimen for seven days, but this is optional.  The cleanse differs from your regular meal plan as it has specific Zero Belly cleanse dinner recipes and tea is recommended everyday but the cheat meal is prohibited.

Each meal or snack should comprise of protein, fiber and healthy fats, such as omega-3 fatty acids.  There is a list of foods and beverages that you can have for this diet and a list of the particular foods to avoid as well.  For fruits and vegetables, leafy greens, apples, citruses, and berries among others are recommended.  Proteins are either eggs, lean cuts of meat, poultry or fish.  Healthy fats come from nuts, seeds, olive oil, coconut oil and fish.  Fiber is from whole grains like oats, quinoa and brown rice.

The foods you should avoid are anything processed, artificial sweeteners, sugar, dairy and saturated fats.  The diet plan also advocates exercises for various muscles in the entire body.

Why The Zero Belly Diet Works

The diet is easy to understand and follow.  It’s excellent for learning to eat healthier choices and having more physical activity, supporting people in transitioning to an overall healthier lifestyle.  It’s a great program when it comes to nutrition, complete with the nutrients that we need while limiting fatty and sugary food.  Another advantage of this diet is that its book explains why fat in the stomach is a health risk and how hormones contribute to our body’s accumulation of fat.

Some people have remarked, however, that not enough recipes were given in the meal plan of this diet’s book and it seemed to feature exercise more, rather than focusing on the diet itself.  Also, though the diet is named the zero belly diet, some people may not see considerable weight loss in their belly at first.

Final thoughts

The zero belly diet’s author agrees with experts that there are no specific exercises to trim down stomach fat.  Instead, the most effective weight loss methods are diet and exercises that train the whole body including the abdomen.  This means that this diet can potentially give you the results you want in a short period of time only when it’s combined with working out.
