Why White Tea Should Be Your Tea (White Tea vs Green Tea – Interesting!)

More people are now becoming tea drinkers because of the numerous health benefits of tea.  Varieties of tea are also available from green to black and even white.  This white tea is lighter than most tea leaves because it goes through the least amount of processing, preserving much of its flavor and nutrients.

Whilst many people are aware of green tea for it’s range of benefits, including helping with weight loss and also black tea and all it’s health benefits, white tea seems to have gone under the radar…. Until now -Let’s have a look at the top benefits of drinking white tea!

Top 6 Benefits of White Tea

    1. It’s significantly rich in antioxidants

Free radicals are responsible for many of the accumulated damages sustained by our bodies.  Antioxidants combat the effects of these free radicals, protect the body and its organs and help it heal.  Studies show that white tea contains even more antioxidants than green tea, making it highly effective for shielding and nourishing the body’s organs and boosting your immune system.

    2. It makes your skin healthier

Thanks to the antioxidants in white tea, your skin also becomes healthier.  Old and damaged skin is shed more easily and replaced by new skin cells.  The body’s organs and systems are detoxified and cleansed of contaminants that affect your skin as well.  In addition to that, these antioxidants help the skin fortify itself against further damage from aging and sun exposure.

    3. It has lesser caffeine content than green tea

White tea can still provide an increase in your energy levels because of its caffeine.  Unlike other drinks however where the caffeine content is too high, white tea has just enough caffeine to give you a sustainable energy boost.  The caffeine in white tea is, in fact, lesser than in green tea and in coffee.

    4. It strengthens your heart

A lot of people are now suffering from health issues especially cardiovascular disease.  Hypertension or high blood pressure contributes to these heart problems.  If you want a stronger heart and improved cardiovascular health, drink more white tea since the flavonoids in it aid in regulating cholesterol levels.  Another substance in white tea is catechins, a type of antioxidant, which also helps control blood pressure.

    5. It supports weight loss

Diet plays an important role in getting rid of excess weight and this includes choosing your drinks well.  Beverages with less sugar and caffeine are recommended with tea being one of the most nutrient-rich drinks.  The catechins in white tea which support the regulation of blood pressure also aid in facilitating the breakdown of fat through producing more heat in the body.

    6. Potential cancer fighter

Initial research findings show that white tea, similar to other kinds of tea, also lowers the risk of developing some kinds of cancer.  This is likely because of the high antioxidant content of white tea which combats free radical damage, one of the causes of the growth of cancerous cells.
