    The Strawberry Diet For Weight Loss Explained

    The strawberry diet is one of the fastest ways to lose weight. If you are looking at dropping several pounds in such as short time, then this could be the diet plan for you. Unlike the other fruit-based diet plans, the strawberry diet has a more aggressive approach for quick weight loss. Read on to know more about it and see whether it is the diet program for you.

    Why you should try it

    The strawberry diet focuses on eating strawberries exclusively or at every meal to promote fast weight loss. The fruit is extremely low in calories, but is high in fiber, manganese, and vitamin C. Berries like strawberries are rich in flavonoid compound cyanidin, which may help reduce your risk of serious health conditions, such as heart disease.

    Different versions

    The most extreme version of this diet was followed by Victoria Beckham, a former member of the famous girl group Spice Girls. The diet consists of eating only a meal of strawberries every single day. Even if you eat five cups of strawberries, it will only be equivalent to more or less 300 calories and less than six grams of protein. Beckham would sometimes add prawns into her diet for added protein.

    A milder version of this diet involves including strawberries in every meal several days per week. The snack is always a strawberry smoothie. There are three- and four-day diet plans that target 1,200 calories a day, and strawberries are only incorporated in every snack and meal.

    Sample Strawberry Diet Meal Plan

    The strawberry diet plan is easy to follow. You can either go extreme by eating only strawberries every day or incorporate the fruit in every healthy meal or snack. Here are sample menus that you can use as guide as you create your diet plan:

    Option 1:

    Breakfast: 250 grams of strawberries, half a banana, and half an apple. Blend them and add a bit of honey, as well as 50 grams of unsweetened yogurt.

    Snack: Blend low-fat milk and 100 grams of strawberries. Add some honey, and 50ml of mineral water, and blend again.

    Lunch: 150 grams of strawberries, 100 grams of cucumber, 1 piece of turkey breast, 10 grams of parsley, 300 grams of asparagus, 20 grams of chopped walnuts, six spoons of vegetable soup, a spoon of olive oil, and a spoon of lemon juice. Mix chopped cucumber and strawberries, and strips of turkey meat in a big bowl. Add lemon juice, olive oil, and vegetable soup.

    Snack: Blend low-fat yogurt and a spoon of honey with 100 grams of strawberries.

    Dinner: Mix boiled potato, small boiled celery, one garlic, yogurt, parsley, and 50 grams of low-fat cheese to make a salad. Add salt, pepper, and lemon.

    Option 2:

    Breakfast: Two slices of integral bread, and cheese

    Snack: Blend 200 grams of strawberries, one teaspoon of honey, one teaspoon of butter, and other desired fruits.

    Lunch: Mix 100 grams of chopped strawberries, one tomato, half lettuce, pepper, 50 grams of low-fat cheese, yogurt, salt, lemon juice, integral toast.

    Snack: Strawberry juice, low-fat yogurt, and pineapple juice

    Dinner: Pancakes with strawberries
