    The grape diet is designed to cleanse the body, improve your metabolism, and help you drop the excess pounds fast. The diet program, which is a product of author and photographer Basil Shackleton’s research, is said to help the body fight against certain forms of cancer. This is because the fruit is packed with vitamins and nutrients that help cleanse the body from toxins. The whole diet program only involves eating only grapes, and drinking plenty of water.

    Grapes are diuretic, low in sodium, and rich in potassium. They help get rid of toxins through frequent urination. The fiber content of the fruit has a laxative effect, helping boost your metabolism and bowel movement.

    Another good thing about grapes is that they give you energy. It has 17 grams of sugar per 100 grams. It also has vitamin B, which helps absorb the sugar and keep nervous and muscular systems in top condition. Grapes, in addition, are perfect for kids and athletic people.

    People in the Mediterranean region have used grapes for detoxification and weight loss for centuries. The fruit helps cleanse their digestive tract, and prevent kidney disease and constipation. The antioxidants and nutrients found in grapes have been linked to reduced risk of serious health conditions, including viral infections, heart disease, degenerative nerve disease, cancer, and more. However, experts recommend eating grapes in moderation due to the fruit’s high sugar content, which is why you need to know how the diet plan works.

    The Grape Diet Program

    The diet program involves eating grapes for each meal. Try to consume at least two pounds of grapes per day to prevent feeling famished. You are free to prepare the grapes in many different ways to make your meal plan more varied. You can either create juice or smoothie, in addition to eating them whole.

    You can drink as much cold or hot water as you want. Since grapes are a diuretic, you want to drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep yourself well-hydrated. You may experience headache and/or nausea during the first few days, but you will eventually get through this once your body has adjusted to the diet. This is the reaction of your body during the cleansing as the grapes help get rid of the toxins. Those side effects are expected and temporary, and will go away after a few days.

    The diet should take at least four to five days, and can stretch for up to two weeks. You will notice results quickly, and should feel healthy and energized once the diet is over. If possible, use only organic grapes. Always wash your grapes thoroughly before consumption, especially when they are not organically-grown, to get rid of the pesticides.

    Precautions

    The grape diet is safe and effective, but you should not follow any diet program if you are pregnant or nursing. You should also get your doctor’s go signal if you have any medical conditions. If you have a physically-demanding job or are athletic, then you may need to adjust your daily caloric intake.
